Training

Training is an important part of being a club member, and whilst training is fun, we are competitive. Training attendance is vital and is a taken into consideration, alongside ability when selecting teams. Whilst training is squad based, players train together as this helps the development of less experienced players, and also enables coaches and captains try different combinations. It's also more fun! Balloons, swiss and medicine balls often make an appearance, as does the camera!

The annual training plan starts in May/June with a fitness and S&C plan, pre season skills and agility in July/August and in-season tactical training commences mid September, for those wishing to have the 'full experience'.

Whilst there is nothing standard about our training sessions, here is an outline:

6:30 - 6:50 - Players arrive, jog and begin individual strengthen & conditioning program
6:50 - 7:00 - Netball specific warm up
7:00 - 7:45 - Squad based skills based on tactics for forthcoming matches
7:45 - 8:20 - Squad based match play
8:20 - 8:30 - Warm down and conclusions

We have 4 level 2 netball coaches, to find out more about them, click onto the
Coaches page. All coaches are supported by captains and all club members. We have a Player Code of Conduct which was put together using suggestions from members.

The cost for non-members is £4 per session and is deductable off your joining fee. The indoor venue is Moberley Sports Centre, Kilburn Lane, W10 4AH.
Click here for the venue website and directions. Training takes place on Mondays between 6:30 & 8:30pm.

If you are interested coming along to a training session please look at the
Leagues page and complete a New Player Info Sheet which can be found at the bottom of that page. New players should be at least the standard of Division 4 North London and should confirm their attendance in advance. Open trials are usually held over August.
